Why Am I Crazy About Young Living?

In 1961 I was a 16 year old student nurse at Brooklyn College. As I watched my parents who were 41 (mom) and 46 (dad) look old, defeated and sick  I learned two special lessons  that my first nursing teacher, Mrs. Norman told us.

“Do not put anything in your mouth that has a caution sign written on the package. The mucous membranes of your mouth are a fast, direct entry to the bloodstream.”

Gone overnight was my toothpaste and mouthwash. I immediately switched to doing a DIY (baking soda, salt and some mint leaves finely chopped) with no computer to guide me.

The second great lesson:

“Know your family’s health history and your own food intake.”

Gone was my junk food, sugarholic style. What could I replace it with? That took years of teeter tottering until I gained enough information. Living with change became a daily occurrence. Throw out the sugar, don’t touch the substitute nerve toxin false sugar, eat lots more veggies. That was the start of years of learning and positive changing.

I’ve fasted for a month, living on water with fresh squeezed lemon juice and Agave.  I’ve been a macrobiotic, vegetarian, vegan, fish and chicken, no red meat on and off, back to vegetarian…you get it. Without my well being what do I have? What do I lose? I wouldn’t be able, at almost 74, to keep up the work I love, see family (how many of us have family scattered across the nation or to other countries) and more.

In 2003 good friends shared Young Living Essential Oils with me. I wish I could sit with each of you and help you the way they helped me that fateful day. I went from a very difficult personal history (FDA says no to mentioning health in relation to a “non drug”) to feeling great (despite having Lyme for many years).

I owe it all to Young Living’s mission statement:

We honor our stewardship to champion nature’s living energy, essential oils, by fostering a community of healing and discovery while inspiring individuals to wellness, purpose, and abundance.

While I love DIY, it is no longer a priority With a simple transfer buying sheet and Young Living’s vast array of wellness products,  I’ve learned to use the best toothpaste, mouthwash, household cleaner, soaps, shampoos and so much more to keep supporting my hormones, bones, muscles, organs…you get the drift…body/mind/spirit. I’m never without my essential oils which are perfect for all our needs. I coupled the lessons I have learned with my favorite way to help – opening doors by educating, mentoring and listening with my heart.
