Nature Speaks

Nature Speaks

Do you know what your dog is really saying?

Nancy’s conversations with missing pets whom she had not met, then years later, upon meeting her, jumping into her arms demonstrate that our companions from other species can hear us and respond.

From adopting shelter animals to becoming an SPCA agent, then warning another agent to take an armed officer with her on a call about abuse, Nancy’s stories remind us that all is possible with love and the intention to help.

Nature Speaks is the story of her own remarkable life, particularly her ability to communicate with and heal animals and plants. She has been called to do this work for over fifty years.

Though it would sound daunting to most of us, the author explains how it works and gives specific advice on trying it ourselves. All nature is linked, speaks a common language, and we can use it too if we just trust ourselves and try it without fear or resistance.

From The Author Nancy Orlen Weber

Because my work and personal lives are watercolor paintings—blending, swirling, merging with zero clean lines—I've stopped trying to separate them. Dividing the two? It's not happening. They've long since eloped and are living happily ever after.
I want to tell you a little story to wrap this all up, which includes my stubbornness, or as I call it, my perseverance. I attended a workshop in 1994. We were all asked to share the title of a book we'd like to write. I had never written a book, but blurted out "Psychic Detective." Everyone thought it was fiction. When I told them, "Uh, no... that's my job," their eyes widened. And then they said the stuck words: "Write the book."
So I did—kind of. The first version? No editing (except maybe my husband gave it a once-over, but don't quote me on that). I interviewed detectives and used their exact words—no filter, no polish. I printed 100 copies only for my clients. No marketing. Zero polish. Just me putting it out there.
In the early 2000s, I gave it another shot. I still had a lot to learn. I tried marketing (badly), but hey—I loved writing it. It just wasn't my best work yet. Around then, I also wrote an animal communication book. Some people liked it! I never did anything with it—I just told people about it—classic me.
My poor husband (he's a gem) played the unofficial roles of editor, formatter, and therapist when I panicked over sentence structure. Eventually, I got smart and said: What if I asked for help? So I joined a fabulous organization full of writing coaches who ensured I didn't just dream the books—I finished them. With lots of guidance, sweat, and reworded run-on sentences, I finally did it.
